Photographs of Power

For the past 15 years Jeremy Blakeslee has taken the often dangerous journey into the magnificent remnants and ruins of America's industrial history.

He photographs the forgotten beasts of burden - the factories, power plants and mines - that carried America into and through the mechanical revolution, creating hundreds of thousands of jobs, entire cities and livelihoods in the process. 'Breathtaking' is thrown about a bit, but it's not out of place describing these stills.
