Phil Anderson

In a discipline in which artists seem to prefer to let their images do all the talking for them (like it spoils the magic to do otherwise), Phil Anderson is refreshingly candid about the process and motivations behind his photography.

Currently, he's working on two series, "One on interiors of spaces which are used for competition, and another... on spaces which are used for sport but were built for another purpose." Anderson posts the results of the shoots at Thai boxing gyms and deserted squash courts, as well as ones he wants to reshoot or feels are out of place (check the sweet shot from the outdoor ski slope). The transparency of his online practice only makes me like him more.
