In good time

Time-lapse is always dizzyingly compelling because it grants an elevated perspective on temporal existence itself.

Dayman Steptoe's remarkable video of the remote Australian countryside took him one year to collate, but it'll take you just minutes to watch. This is a beautiful gift to the sedentary amongst us.

His trip covers a rich tapestry of rural scenes: lightning storms against a rusty-red sunset; bushfires under wildly varying degrees of human control; psychedelic clouds above a lighthouse; an abandoned building sitting with staunch resilience under Australia's scorching sun, shadows flickering and playing on its rusted and creaking frame.

We're now officially hankering for a road-trip.
