Dear Photograph

Dear Photograph

The website Dear Photograph asks readers to send in photos of photos taken in the same place across different times.

The submissions range from the personal (a father’s old, long-gone car in a now renovated garage) to the historically significant (New York’s Twin Towers burning in the spot left void), and provide a vertigo-inducing glimpse into the past.

The project’s founder, Taylor Jones, has compiled some of the best photos from the blog into a book. In an age where audiences are saturated with images, most of which we don’t bother to look at twice, it serves as a worthwhile reminder of the enduring power of the printed image.
