There’s something otherworldly about the sight of a ski field in the summer. Daniel Bushaway’s photos capture these one-time winter wonderlands in all their stark beauty.
The British-born photographer traveled to Victoria’s alpine country in the off season to create his Summit series. Once there, he found himself surrounded by disused ski lifts and empty green fields – modern ruins from a (temporarily) vanished civilization.
Of course, it will be a different sight come wintertime. Until then, though, it’s nice to think of these quiet fields in a state of relaxation. Like they're on their own vacation.
