Thirsty Thursday: Feral Brewing

Thursday September 27, 2012 Written by wilfred

In Australia, calling something or someone "feral" doesn't usually translate as 'good taste'. Not unless you find body odour and dreadlocks tasteful. An exception: Feral Brewing out of Western Australia.

From the Swan Valley just a half hour's drive from Perth's CBD, Feral brews an extensive range of excellent beers (the Feral White is terrific, as is their beloved Hop Hog IPA - which was voted number one in The Critics' Choice Australia's Best Beers 2011). Not happy with simple lagers and pale ales, Feral's varietals include a Belgian Dubbel (the Rust), Barley Wine (the Razorback), Saison Ale (the Farmhouse) and an unfiltered German Gose beer (the Hose Gose). If this keeps up, before you know it calling someone "feral" will be a compliment...
