Tap Story

Australia's water is some of the best in the world, so why on earth do we buy bottled?

It's a question that Tap Sydney puts directly to folks in cafes and restaurants all over the city. The initiative is simple; Tap Sydney creates labels thanking people for choosing tap water and outlining the reasons that drinking local makes a difference. These labels are then stuck on water vessels in hospitality joints all over the city, thereby raising awareness. It's dead simple.

When you consider that tap water costs less than one cent per litre, compared with around $2.50 per litre in a bottle, and it's tapped directly to you, which means no transport or nasty enviro impact, it seems like madness to buy the stuff.
