Aussie beer taps were once dominated by the same three or four brands, but over the past half-decade we've found ourselves with a selection of micro-breweries and small batch brewers equal to anywhere in the world.
Celebrating all things small, micro and craft is Sydney Craft Beer Week. It runs from October 20 to 28, which is technically longer than a week, but time always get a little fuzzy at these things. For some reason. Dinners, tastings, tastings to music (The Beer Lover's Guide to Extreme Beers...), launches, tap takeovers and long, long drinking sessions are on the cards and you'll probably only recognise a handful of the brews on offer, so come down and see what Australian beer is really capable of.
