There are a lot of 'days' out there. The International Day of the Polar Bear. National Tortilla Chip Day. Hat Day. But when it comes to beer, you need a whole week.
Good Beer Week is in its third year and features 140 events at more than 100 venues across Melbourne and around Victoria. As you can imagine, it involves a lot of beer tasting, but there's also a program of brewing masterclasses, degustations and tours from some of our favourite Thirsty Thursday brewers: Young Henry's (at Cherry Bar), Stone & Wood (inside an art studio) and Moondog, Kooinda and La Sirene (in a beer battle).
And don't be frightened if you're new to beer. It's geared to everyone from beer novices to beer geeks. Did we mention beer?
Good Beer Week 2013 runs from May 18 to 26.
