Yoshi's Blend

Kombi vans trekking up and down the coast usually carry surfboards, but Yoshi Masuda's carries coffee and quality music.

Serving java to Japanese residents hard-hit by the tsunami, Yoshi brings along a record player and some dusty, soulful old LPs. His goal is to provide a simple pleasure - having a cuppa with a friendly face that offers some respite from otherwise tough conditions.

Mackenzie Sheppard shot an 8-minute film about Yoshi and his work. It will make you appreciate the simple art of making coffee, and having a laugh amidst a hard day ahead.
