You may be entertained by Colin Furze and his jet-powered kid’s bike. Or by his mobility scooter engineered to hit 114 kilometres an hour courtesy of a motorcycle engine. Don't, however, think mere entertainment is the only thing happening.
This short documentary about him, his inventions and his five Guinness world records gets at how the creative urge – the drive to invent – is a pure thing, one not rewarded by self-consciousness. Let’s not forget Thomas Edison tried to make entire houses out of a single concrete mould and Alexander Graham Bell was super into breeding his sheep to have six nipples. Who knows where strapping a rocket to a Schwinn will get us.
