What's old is new again, apparently. Designer Adria Navarro has blown the dust off the old cassette player and converted it into a turntable that could give Grandmaster Flash a run for his money. It may be hard to belive, but listen to Navarro work his Dr Frankensteinian instrument in this short video.
The digital-meets-analog wonder combines portable tape technology with a standard computer fan and the code-it-yourself Arduino platform. Our favourite touch: housing it all in a suitibly high-tech cardboard box.
If you’re keen for a project and would like to make one yourself, Navarro has put the instructions online. If you finish it, let us know. We’ve got some old tapes we’d like to try out.
