The Tote is the kind of pub every self-respecting Melburnian has had at least one absolute rager in. The stickiness of the carpets, the olfactory thrill of the bathrooms, the blazing loudness of the live music – it’s what memories are made of. And now you can recreate those memories in your own home, thanks to the folk over at Gin & Apathy. Creators of finely detailed, laser-cut bamboo model kits of lesser-known icons – think Battersea Power Station, Detroit’s Hotel Yorba, and the house from 1987 British black comedy Withnail and I – Gin & Apathy make models as everyday reminders of banal yet weirdly wonderful things in our local neighbourhoods.
