The Golden Sans Project

The Golden Sans Project

Away from the theme parks and nite-clubs. Back from the beaches. Hidden on side streets and behind new shop-front facades – this is where art director Andrew Suggit has been looking for The Golden Sans Project.

Capturing the most charming residential and urban signage from around Queensland's Gold Coast, Suggit has focused on type that's stood the test of time (relatively speaking) and gone onto forge the identity of the place.

If you holidayed around Surfers Paradise as a kid, then these hotel, motel and apartment block signs will be sure to bring back some memories. If you've never been, but enjoy looking at old type, then the weekly upload of new images will be like a vacation for your eyeballs.
