Do you love sitting in oversized rocking chairs? What about wearing warm beanies? Do you also harbour an intense hatred of knitting? Well, have we got the ludicrously specific invention for you.
It’s called the Rocking Knit, and it’ll make you a woollen cap while you coo yourself to sleep on your front porch. The brainchild of Swiss designers Damien Ludi and Colin Peillex, it’s actually ingeniously simple: gears attached to the chair’s frame churn as you rock yourself back and forth, drawing yarn up from a spool under the seat which it then knits together.
Now if somebody could invent a chair that will weave us a tweed suit, we’ll be quite happy.
