If (mostly) white (almost inevitably) dudes sitting around talkin' about pop culture are the oil fields of podcasting, then film – as a topic – is Texas, 1901.
Talking about newly-released bad movies is a rich seam (vintage cult and B movies are in an adjacent county), which makes "The Flop House" a real bunch of John D Rockefellers.
Dan McCoy, Elliot Kalan and Stuart Wellington create as many laughs deliberately as the films they talk about generate inadvertently. Their quick-wittedness is unsurprising considering the former two are writers for The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. It's not necessary to watch, for example, The Oogieloves in the Big Balloon Adventure to enjoy their quest to decide whether it's a bad bad movie, a good bad movie, or a movie they kind of like – but sometimes pain is eased by shared experience.
