The Movie Title Stills Collection

Film nerds, rejoice — we may well have found your new favourite website.

The Movie Title Stills Collection is exactly what its name suggests: an exhaustive archive of still shots from the title sequences of pretty much every film you could possibly think of, from the early 1900s until the present day.

The site is the personal project of Dutch web designer Christian Annyas, who started taking screenshots "to prove I've sat through at least the first ten minutes of [the films]". The result is a fascinating insight into how the art of the title sequence has evolved over the years, from the decorative faux-theatre cards of early silent cinema to the extravagant big-budget sequences of today.
