If you’ve kept an eye on this blog over the last few years, you’ll know that if we learn something – anything – interesting about Twin Peaks, we are going write about it. So, without further ado, here’s our latest Lynchian love: these tiny dioramas made by a German artist who only goes by the name ‘Kristina’. (How fittingly mysterious.)
Each of the miniatures is set in one of Twin Peaks’ most memorable locations. There are men in red suits dancing on the zigzagging floor of the Black Lodge; plastic-wrapped Laura Palmers waiting to be discovered on lonely shorelines; and llamas standing face-to-face with FBI Special Agent Dale Coopers in overcrowded veterinary clinics.
As Coop once said himself, “in the heat of the investigative pursuit, the shortest distance is not always necessarily a straight line”. Perhaps the seemingly never-ending space between eager fans and the start of Twin Peaks’s third season can be shortened with a detour to Kristina’s Etsy store.
