A few years ago, commercial filmmaker Brandon Li decided to sell everything he owned (except for his trusty camera and laptop) and use the money to travel around the world.
One of the places he visited was Western Mongolia – and it clearly left an impact on him. Perhaps it was the nomadic lifestyle of the Kazakh people he met there, whose itinerancy no doubt reminded him of his own.
While there he filmed Nomads of Mongolia, a short film about life on the steppes. Full of eagle training, yak herding and camel racing, it’s enough to make us want to pack up our yurts and hit the road.
