The Longfin Inshore Squid has a few things going for it. For one, it's a squid and they're pretty cool. For another, it has things called chromatophores nestled underneath its skin that allow it to change its colour in response to external stimuli, and we've all wanted to do that at some point.
Enter the Marine Biological Laboratory in Massachussetts. Using a modified iPod Nano they stimulated the chromatophores in one lucky squid's dorsal fin and filmed the surprising, beautiful results up close. Oh, and the song they used? Cypress Hill's "Insane in the Membrane". See, science can be fun. More detailed info here.
