The American Alpine Club is a non-for-profit advocacy group for rockclimbers, mountaineers and generally alpine-inclined outdoorsy types.
It was founded in 1902 and, according to its website, aims to "provide knowledge and inspiration, conservation and advocacy, and logistical support for the climbing community".
This is all very laudable, but as a consequence of having spent 100 years drawing together people who spend a lot of time in spectacular natural locations, the other thing that the club has found itself sitting on is a huge archive of pretty impressive landscape photography. Happily, they've uploaded a great deal of it — 1,863 images, to be precise — to Flickr, where you can browse to your heart's content. If you're a fan of landscape photography, we highly recommend checking it out.
