For the past 15 years Jeremy Blakeslee has taken the often dangerous journey into the magnificent remnants and ruins of America's industrial history.
He photographs the forgotten beasts of burden - the factories, power plants and mines - that carried America into and through the mechanical revolution, creating hundreds of thousands of jobs, entire cities and livelihoods in the process. 'Breathtaking' is thrown about a bit, but it's not out of place describing these stills.
