Cloned Photos

08 Aug by luke

In 2011 David Eger had a simple mission: create a new, compelling photograph every day using only the Phase I Clones from Star Wars: Attack of the Clones.

Many of the subsequent images involved his clone subjects recreating date-specific historical images and he has extracted these into a pretty endearing Flickr set called Cloned Photos.

Here you'll find clones raising the flag on Iwo Jima, clones facing down tanks in Tiananmen Square, clones striding across Abbey Road, clones e-enacting Will and Kate's first kiss and a clone riding a bike across the face of the moon, ET-style. It's a quirky history lesson, and (in its weird way) a handy little reminder that for all our claims to individuality, underneath our solid white armour we're not actually that different, you and I.
