A Good Idea: the Nursery Project

A Good Idea: the Nursery Project

Rohan Anderson has a new project afoot. The man behind Whole Larder Love and our favourite hand-built log smokehouse is turning his bucolic, DIY spirit to creating a hobby farm for the masses. And he needs our help.

Known as the Nursery Project, Anderson says the idea is to create a place in Victoria’s Central Highlands “where we can demonstrate all the skills for growing, raising, curing, preserving, hunting, foraging and cooking real food”. Experts will share their technical nous with visiting city slickers, who’ll get their hands dirty, learn the lay of the land and – most importantly – eat the stuff grown on site.

But Anderson needs to raise $450,000 to make the dream a reality. An online fundraiser began last night, replete with all the usual perks and rewards for contributors. The campaign ends December 22. You can help here.
