Rohan Anderson has long been living off the land: catching, preparing and cooking fish or game, and growing everything else. He shows the rest of us how to do it too in his first cook book.
The great thing about Whole Larder Love (the book, and the website) is that you can use a lot of Anderson's ethos and, most importantly, recipes in the staid old city. Smoked trout pappardelle, rabbit with mustard sauce and venison ossobuco are taste good on every plate, but Anderson's book also lays out the hunting and prep essentials for those who are interested in going the extra step.
Read Anderson's blog posts for Smith, or watch him build a pioneer-style cold smokehouse.
