In the do-it-yourself universe, it doesn't get more impressive than building your own house. Particularly if you're the kind who works inside, on computers, building websites.
But you know what? The two shouldn't be mutually exclusive, and these young internet entrepreneurs are proving it.
It's happening in Upstate New York in a woodland utopia named Beaver Brook. They've been documenting its construction on their website with high-quality, screen-wide photos, showing trees to be milled, the suspension bridge they built and the trout on the campfire.
The founder of Vimeo, Zach Klein, is one of the gang and their unofficial spokesperson. The project makes for a nice story and Beaver Brook is a great thing to watch. Sure, people have been building their own houses for years, but no one documents it as well as these guys.
