Before his personal life got all 'murder-y', Phil Spector was responsible for perhaps the most revolutionary idea in recorded music: the Wall of Sound.
Australian designer Marika Järv may not be angling for such a profound impact, but her own WALL of SOUND is pretty remarkable in its own, slightly more literal way. Over the past five years, Järv has been interlinking band names – i.e stereolabanaramazzystar – to create a 500-long non-repeating chain of indie music's recent past. Now she's transcribed the series into a vinyl groove-esque spiral, printed it on high-quality paper and released it as a limited-edition print. Available in black vinyl, gold record and diamond record varieties; there's a WALL of SOUND for every taste.
