Patebury

19 Sep by adam

If there's one industry growing faster than cycling itself, it's the accessories that plug into it. With a focus on quality leather construction and design, Patebury is rising to the top of the market.

Cameron Paterson and Joram Salisbury formed Patebury from a portmanteau of their surnames and a mutual love of surfing, cycling and thoughtful design. A friendly rivalry developed around their love for restoring old bikes, ignited by a daily commute to work. After securing an industrial space in the Sydney suburb of Alexandria to house their growing collection of bikes, they soon turned their hands to leather bike accessories.

Patebury have perfected their Kangaroo Leather Straps, the result of 12 months of product development. The strap is Australian made using locally sourced materials in an effort to support domestic industry. Not only is it a good-looking piece of kit, it's a tried and true method of keeping your feet where they should be.

Adam Leddin worked as a bike courier in Sydney for seven years and is now the editor of Cycle EXIF. His site showcases classic, custom and handmade bikes, and the stories of people who build and ride them.
