A balanced bookeeper

22 Feb by wilfred

Ahh, ain't it a great sense of accomplishment completing a book? Or at least moving it from the 'to peruse' pile to the 'perused!'? Designer Niko Economidis has created a bookshelf, which makes that accomplishment not just a feeling but a physical thing.

His Read-Unread bookshelf is a bit of conceptual art, wherein a leather strap hangs on your wall, balancing - like Lady Liberty's Scales of Justice - your 'unread' books on one side with the 'read' books on the other. The only bad bit is you've gotta go buy more books to balance it out when you finish reading everything. Which really isn't bad news at all...
